The inspiration for Purely Natural Herbal Soaps began after a stay in a Taos, New Mexico Bed & Breakfast several years ago. The inn offered handmade soaps that were rich, relaxing, and romantic. They proved to be the perfect nightcap to busy vacation days spent shopping or hiking.

Mary Christofferson was captivated by these elegant soaps and began crafting her own recipes in her Tempe, Arizona home. Her interests in aromatherapy and herbal medicine led to a variety of natural ingredients tested on family and friends (we'll never forget the garlic soap!). Her persistence has paid off and she now produces 19 colorful varieties of natural, elegant and aromatherapeutic soaps that more than match her Taos experience of several years ago.

Mary hails from Madison, Wisconsin and is a computer programmer by profession. She gets lots of help and support from her husband Eric; children Maris and Marianna; and dogs Abby, Dacey, and Stormy.
